TWC-2012/13Term2-Gerald Ng Ghim Yap
by Gerald Ng Ghim Yap
Looking back at each of my TWC lessons, I have definitely gained a lot of valuable knowledge. It was not just about textbook concept and theory; it helped me to explore further and increased my “general knowledge”. The lesson was also conducted in a fun and interesting way which included a problem based learning.
In my previous journal, I have jotted some of my objectives that were my challenges for this course. One of it was to be able to present well.Nevertheless, with the help of my team mate, I picked up useful skills to help me overcome the “fright” to stand in front and communicate in a confident manner. There were many opportunities to do presentation like in breakup session. It was helped me a lot especially when the topic was flexible and clear.
In my second objectives, time management was well handled. Despite all the projects in hand, I stayed focused and took out some time to read up the textbook and other reviews to participate in the forum. Lastly, all I wanted to say was I enjoyed the lessons and peer-learning with my team which I did not imagined that it could beneficial and engaging at the same time.
Throughout this journey, I also learnt a lot about “innovation” as a whole. I have come across some of the innovation but I never knew the person who created it and his novelty that has helped us in our daily life. Furthermore, I get to know more about technologies and its role; some of it was from group’s presentation which has really ignited my curiosity. Moreover, with the entrepreneurship talk, it value-add to my learning experience which I would not have easier “acquired” it in class.
All in all, I hope to have a similar class like TWC under Prof Pamela and learnt things beyond the original scope. Thank you to those who have helped me in this course as well =).
