Being someone who has no absolute background knowledge on business set-up and finance management, this has been a 2-day brilliant crash course for me to kickstart an idea I have about setting up a business as a SAHM.
Like Prof Lim said, she made us do a lot of work (before & within the 2 days class) - It was challenging especially when I needed to juggle time with 3 kids, breastfeeding a 3-month old baby and was extremely exhausted during & after the 2 days.
The hard work put in and sleep sacrificed has proven to be rewarding as I got useful feedback, encouraging words, much inspirations from the interaction with Prof, Teaching Assistant Zi Rong, the resident Entrepreneurs and my fellow classmates - All of them have been really helpful & patient with our "baby steps" towards realising the business set up dream.
I appreciate the resident entrepreneurs brought in to share with us their areas of expertise and experience and willingness to look at our ideas and help us along.
Though it has only been 2 days but I do have a better idea and direction now on how to go about starting my business and realising the passion in my business.
I know that I may not succeed on the first or second try (as there is still so much work to do and learn) but I will not give up trying!!! Just like how other resident entrepreneurs & Prof Lim have shown us.
I am especially encouraged that Prof Lim & other resident entrepreneurs as they are setting a new culture & community example for upcoming entrepreneurs on how to do business - exhibiting selfless sharing (in their experience & knowledge), long term partnership, encouragement & inspiration, and doing business innovatively, ethically and looking for ways to give back to the community.
I hope I can join them one day to help others in this area as well!
A BIG THANK YOU to Prof Lim, Zi Rong, the Resident Entrepreneurs and those I met at the class for sharing in this journey!
