Singapore and Sweden
by: wei zhong

I thought that the economics climate and the spirit of the Swedish would be more driven than Singapore. Cos Sweden is amazing with prevalence of your brands in many industries.

Hope Singapore has treated you well and that you had a great time in Singapore and SMU.

Enjoy whatever remaining time u have in Singapore before flying back to Europe, though I gladly switch place with u anytime.

Ciao

Hi Filip,

It was really a pleasure to work with you. Though you're an exchange student, it was good to see you being involved in many aspects of the project. Sure enough, you have learned plenty along the way.

It would be a pleasure to embark on another entrepreneurship journey with you, all the best as you prepare to head home!

Be bold to share..
by: Kok Boon

Hi Filip,

Thanks for sharing your heart out regarding your experiences here in Singapore. I believe we have much to learn from you just as you did from us.

I strongly believe you can definitely effect the change you want to see back in Sweden . Just like entrepreneurship, where one effects a change in society by providing value through the setting up of a business, the environment that you live in would change if you're willing to 'be the change you want to see'.

Just as you had learnt much from the sharings of many students from the class, I encouraged you to take the step forward by sharing instead of listening in future. Sometimes it really just takes the sharing of simple things to impact another's life.

With that, I wish you all the best for your future endeavours :)

Keep going!
by: Yuping

People here in Singapore are much more entrepreneurship driven, maybe because it is competitive even with people within the same company and even among your peers, and so entrepreneurship gives an additional option to people as a career. Of course there are also people who are driven by their passion and their belief in some things, but that is more driven internally i guess.

You mentioned that you wished Sweden was much more entrepreneurship driven. Well, you can be one of them! In any case, i hope you would be able to apply whatever experience that you've gained here and apply it in Sweden. Good luck! :)

hi
by: Jane Tan

hey Filip,

welcome to Singapore and i hope that Singaporeans have brought much joy and have engaged some cultural exchanges with you.

Perhaps its in your team dynamics that gave u the impression of Singaporeans rather pro-active. Generally, i view Singaporeans not as pro-active in entreprenuership; reason being they adopt the attitude of being a follower. Singaporeans tend to go with the flow and do not try to make themselves different from the crowd. Im glad that we(locals) have shown you our positive image thus far . :) we are friendly people. :)

I agree with you that we all should interact with internationals and communicate effectively with one another. In view of globalization, we have to. I am glad that you are one of the wise people who choose to listen than to talk much. Well, we need all kinds of ppl in a team- the talkative ones and the listeners. Being a listener is a very important skill and I guess you have it, dude. :) In the business world, we have often neglect to listen to others' needs and we just simply want to voice our thoughts, concerns and wants but when we begin to take a step back and reflect more often and listen more often, we probably be more successful in clinching deals, more effective communicator and be more sensitive to people around us.

I hope you had a great sem and continue to put on your inquisitive hat and keep striving for excellence in whatever you do!
