 Daring to be Different

Mr Wong's speech struck a chord in me because it described an education that was so distinctively different from the typical Singaporean education we all expect to get. He took chances and this is something that I admire most about him, that he dared to do things his way and was determined to make his own path, even when things weren't always going well from him.

I think Singaporeans always tend to play it safe and this results in a very boring, safe uni life. We don't experience as much as students in othr countries, who don't focus solely on academics. I think this is the key point that I took away from Mr Wong's story, that we must learn to take chances and that there is more to life that excellent grades.
