All the best!
by: Kenny Tan

Hi Shoko,

Thanks for sharing! As an international student, you must probably face plenty of language and cultural hurdles in a class filled mostly by Singaporeans. Even more, you have to work and start a business with them! Nevertheless, the lessons you learn must be invaluable in complementing what you understand of business as a Japanese. I have learnt that one of the Japanese’ secret of success to doing business is the intense discipline that the management and workers have to achieving the company’s goals, sometimes at the expense of their personal interests.

I wish you all the best in your future endeavours!

Arigato Shoko!
by: Mingjie

Although it was a really short 13 weeks and we are not in the same team so we didn't get to interact much, nevertheless thanks Shoko, for bringing a Japanese perspective to our class, and sharing with us what you feel about entrepreneurship in Japan.

I think your daring to come to a foreign land to do such a different course is a major step in itself and I hope you will enjoy the rest of your stay here and bring back many wonderful memories to Japan! =)

A great experience.
by: Riccardo Delle Vedove

Hey Shoko,

I can relate to how you feel being an exchange student myself. This course wasn't just a normal class. We have gone through a lot of presentations, meetings and I guess difficult moments. But we learnt a lot of new things, gained experience in the entrepreneurial world and became more courageous as well.

A great experience!!

I loved the part when you said Singaporeans are crazy, but I'm sure the Japanese are just as crazy yeah? I'm glad you found courage through your peers, especially with a group as fantastic as Pop Art Inc :) I do hope to see you managing a successful company soon! Jaa ne!

Lessons Learnt
by: Sudeshna

Hey Shoko,

I'm glad you still stuck on to the class because it really offered us alot of experience which will be difficult to get anywhere else.

You're right about the secret you learnt about entrepreneurs. They think but do more and that's definitely one of they keys to success.

I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and hope to see you running a big company in Japan some day! :)

One down, more to go!
by: Janice Tan

Hey Shoko! Glad to know that your experience of writing a business plan was a great one. Its one of those intimidating things which many people try to put off until the last minute right? Haha. Singapore is a beautiful place, albeit without the cherry blossoms that you get to see in Japan, hope you enjoy your stay here! Seems like there is an awful lot of things that you want to learn, good stuff!

It's been a pleasrue Shok's
by: Leonard

Hey Shoko,

It's been a pleasure having you aboard hte team. Even though you weren't able to join us at Vietnam, I hope some of our SIngaporean working culture rubbed off on you and you understand us better.

As for entrepreneurship. Yes I agree with you, skills are important, and we don't have much of it. But I feel acknowledging that fact is the first part of being an entrepreneur. THe next step is getting means to acquire it.

GOod luck in your future endeavours. And may you come back to Singapore again

I look forward to visiting your company in Japan and seeing how well you run your business. I'm glad you have something to take away from your time in Singapore, on top of friends and a new idea and belief.

Jack of the Trades
by: Geh Si Wei

Hi Shoko,

I feel that you don't need to be good in all the areas you mentioned - finance, the speed of searching info, technology, etc.

The truth is, no entrepreneur really needs to be. Just as no man is an island, a successful business needs people of all backgrounds and expertise to make it work. I think the key is to find what role we find ourselves strongest in, and to find complementary team mates to cover each others' weaknesses.

Cheers!
Si Wei

Japan Go Go Go
by: Edmund Tan

Hey Shoko,
with the course coming to an end, I think its a pity we haven't managed to learnt more about Japan from you. When I first found out that we have a Japanese student in the class, i was hoping to see some sort of ideas fusion between Japan and Singapore. That may not have happened, but i'm sure you played a big part in influencing the Pop Art Group. Lucky them!

POP ART INC. FOR THE WIN! :D
by: Priscila Lin

Hello Shoko!

Thanks for being part of Pop Art Inc. It's a pity you couldn't join us on the Vietnam trip! It would've been fun if you were there with us!

I hope you enjoyed this course as much as I did, and I'm sure you've learned a lot in your own way. Like how we Singaporeans are so crazy, changing our business models time after time! Heh! I hope you'd bring back with you fond memories of us Pop Art Inc.

Thanks for trying your best and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors! Maybe you can expand Pop Art Inc. into Japan! Take care!

平田ちゃん,しばらくね. I did my exchange in japan so i know how you feel and generally how japanese people think. Hopefully, u have learnt some usefult stuff from this course and maybe u can teach some of the people in japan a thing or 2 about entrepreneurship.

I notice that the large majority of the population はサラリマンになるso it would be good to see more of them working smart and becoming their own boss.

がんばって
by: Eric Zhang

I truly admire your courage for staying on this class and not dropping it. I can understand how you feel being alone of the odd one out in the class whereby everyone else are not of your nationality. I can relate myself to you in many ways because even though I am a Singaporean, I do find myself different and awkward in the class.

You have taken the risk and went through the fears and uncertainties of staying in this course. To me, you have very much mastered the the first step of an entrepreneur, that is to take the first step venturing into risk.

All the best
by: Ashley

Hey Shoko,

I'm glad you mentioned about writing plans - too often we rely on theories and fuzzy concepts that when it comes down to actually writing a real business plan, we are unsure what to do. When we start working, we need to shift to "real-world" for good.

I am very happy and proud that you pressed on throughout the course and did not give up. That would be a meaningful takeaway fot you for sure when you manage a company. Always keep that fighting spirit.

I wish you every success!

Hi Shoko,
I can totally understand your concerns in taking the class as I felt the same, coming from a background with no understanding of business operations. I think we've both had positive takeaways from the class, and all the best when you head back to Japan!

cheers,
xihao
