Imagine a world where you walk into a supermarket and the right groceries are suggested to you, or a bookstore and staff recommend books based on your fields of interest. This is the world with customer analytics, a solution first pioneered by RedPill Solutions, founded by Mr. Suresh V Shankar. RedPill Solutions is the panacea to understanding the complex needs of consumers and was acquired by IBM in October 2009.

It was launched in 2000 and focused on emerging markets, becoming a pioneer in analytics services in many of these markets. Transforming the businesses of 35 clients spanning Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia,

RedPill Solutions was truly revolutionary. With clients like DBS, Tata Indiacom and Nokia Siemens as some of their clients, it is no surprise when IBM expressed interest Mr. Suresh brainchild. RedPill Solutions became one of IBM’s few service acquisitions in the last few years. Post-acquisition, the business has since doubled and under the umbrella of IBM, RedPill Solutions has become a global analytics leader for GPS.

Innovator; Entrepreneur; Disruptor; Incubator and even Analytics Evangelists are just some of the terms that are commonly used to describe Mr. Suresh. In our meeting, he has displayed a great amount of humility, yet we can constantly detect an energy emanating from him, ever ready to dive into his next innovation or solution that can revolutionize businesses.

Entrepreneurship has always been in his blood. In his roles in ABM AMRO, he was responsible for launching new platforms and the creation of a new global customer experience strategy. This has only served to whet his appetite and led to him setting up JWT-Fulcrum which is India’s first media buying agency which revolutionized and created the Indian media buying industry. With JWT-Fulcrum, he on-boarded Citibank and led the launch of Citibank Cards, Citibanking, CitiPhone banking and many new services that created the Indian consumer financial services sector.

Drawing his inspirations from Peter Drucker and M K Gandhi, Mr. Suresh believes that he can Compiled by Team 1, G2 – Organizing & Logistics Team be the change that he wishes to see in the world. Drucker’s philosophy that profit is the result of doing business, not the purpose of it has been a guiding path to which he can attribute the success of RedPill Solutions to. The purpose of business is to create and keep customer, looking at the success of RedPill Solutions, we believe that Mr. Suresh has truly embodied that and we look forward to seeing many new innovations from this truly remarkable man.
