Polite response
by: Gordon

I feel compelled to answer u since u took the time and effort to post on my page....twice. HAHAHA.

Straying away from entrepreneurship, I reviewed the comments on my wall and it looked like an aunt agony thread of somekind. Anyway, ive been told too many times that im too straightforward already, personally i dont feel the need to beat ard the bush and being diplomatic is sometimes.... a waste of time wouldnt u agree? And im not saying im neglecting it...i use it sparingly. haha.

In essence, some ppl appreciate it, some dont.

Oh btw did u just call me the most irritating person in class? HAHA. see u ard

Hey dude!
by: Kenny Tan

Hey Si Wei,

Thanks for sharing! Just want to encourage you that you are definitely an ideas person and has always proven to be resourceful when the situation demands of it: something that defines a good entrepreneur. Of course, you also have the finance knowledge too, an added asset that every entrepreneur concerned about the bottom-line needs. As you pointed out, what you need is a team of people who can support you, and make you realize that this is a dream worth chasing and investing your time and effort in, to encourage you when the going gets tough, etc.

I believe you are cut out to be the front man of the business. Don’t short-change yourself by only supporting another person’s dream. –D

Be the Lead Man
by: Ili Liyana

Hello Si Wei

The first time I met you was during the SMU Adventure Race, we were in the same team representing Econs. Throughout the race, I can see your qualities shine through. You are very driven, competitive, ambitious and very encouraging towards your teammates. Even though we were dying running in the hot sun with one of our teammates cramping, you spurred us on with a never-say-die attitude.

With this I would say you definitely have what it takes to be a succcessful entrepreneur. You are definitely capable to be the lead man! Do not doubt your capabilities and aim only to be a support to someone. All you need is more self belief!

Likewise
by: Gordon

I too wish I had enrolled in this class 3 years ago, but sadly 3 years ago the class wasnt in existence. I did, however, manage to be in Prof Lim's class for TWC and that is what spurred me to drop Strat and join this class. She is quite the teacher :)

I can relate to everything you said about being unclear abt what role u want to develop urself to, its quite an issue but luckily our entrepreneurial mind is still at its infancy. We can still learn and draw our own destiny.

Believe in yourself!
by: Jolene Cheong

Hey!

I think the question to ask is not whether you are suitable to be an entrepreneur! I think as long as you have a fabulous idea and a fabulous team, just believe in yourself and go ahead and do it! All the best! And I agree about the part which you talked about memorizing! I think that memorizing is total rubbish! Tertiary education preparing us for work should scrape memorising totally!

Sweat vs Talent..
by: Elvin Ong

Hey Si Wei, I'm sure when you are thinking whether you can be an entrepreneur, at that moment you have made that first step. An entrepreneur is made not born. No matter how talented you maybe, it depends on the hard work that is accompanied by your talent which make you fly. No use having a talented man without the correct mind set. I'm sure you have both. =) Best wishes for your future!

Direction and Identification
by: Cai Xihao

Hey, I agree with you about different considerations for a one-man show. It is never that straightforward nor easy and I guess with a team, it makes it a lot easier.

whether you're an entrepreneur? I think this module has more than answered it for you. =)

Knowing
by: Adriel

Admire your clarity in your direction. Much too often, we want to have a taste of everything and we lose our sense of direction. I share your views on risk taking and I look forward to working with you!

Entrepreneurial
by: Jessica

I love your example on not needing to remember your phone number and totally agree that I love the fact that Prof Pam is so practical and tells us there is not about memorizing, rather its about the experience because there is far too many courses and modules that you are successful simply because you have a good memory.

Mr Laplock
by: Melissa

Hey Si Wei!

"Don?t you recall your own phone number?? Einstein replied, "No, why should I memorize something I can so easily get from a book??"
-- This really made me laugh as it reminds me of my brother who never remembers his own number :)

Anyway, I was surprised that you feel that you're better suited to support a frontman as I've always gotten the impression that you're Mr Smooth-Talker Face-Of-the-Group! Like you, I also really liked how Prof Lim didn't feed us with information available all over the net. Anyways, I'm glad you've a better idea of what you want to do in the future!

Trick or Treat
by: Janice Tan

Hey Si Wei, your comments on nature or nurture caught my attention. I have always wondered that myself as well, whether the entrepreneurial streak in me was nature or nurtured under the influence of my dad. I guess its a bit of both, but i suppose its doesn't matter that much. The most important thing is to follow your passion, that way everything would fall into place. After all, I feel that passion

Superman is a myth
by: Edmund Tan

Hey, i agree with you about running a one-man show. While it is definitely possible, there are so many more benefits in having an extra partner. You get a different perspective, devil's advocate who runs you through a reality check now and then. The course has been as un-academic as possible, which is a breath of fresh air.

Love Your Thoughts
by: Bevan

I indeed respect your words and feel that you have what it takes to bring it to the next level. Your level of self awareness is good which shows you know what you want in life. Just to note that no matter what role you are in the team, you are just as significant as the other in the team. All the best :)
